Our Snowboarding Trip To Andorra in February 2003
Andy & George Sanderson, Tony & Joe Jeffs
It started off on a Friday night after work. George and I drove to Barmouth's own local action man and extreme sports enthusiast, Tony Jeffs' house to pick him and his son Joe up. Then it was a long night drive to Luton airport. No hotel for us, just cold, dirty airport floor! Our flight was at 7am Saturday morning. We slept the whole flight and most of the car journey from Barcelona to Arinsal. |

The drive up the mountain was slippery & difficult. It was more like a rally than a drive! But thanks to Tony's driving, we made it to the slopes. |
The weather was perfect. Fresh powder everywhere! There was not a person in sight! |

As you can see, Tony had already had some practice (15 years worth!).
It was Dad's first time snowboarding and he was doing quite well. All that surfing paid off. |

Back to the top for run number 1,000,000! We found a drop and got a picture of Joe getting BIG AIR! (right)
George was speeding through the trees kicking up spray and Andy just managed to get a shot of him as he flew past. Poser! |

That night, George and Joe found a field just outside our chalet and they built a mini snow park. They made a 1/2 pipe, a pair of doubles and a ramp. |
They went out there every night to practice and to make the jumps bigger! But when the jumps got bigger the crashes got worse! |
As you can see they got big air off the ramp because the field was on a slope to get speed.
