Kitchen.
At last I am doing something with the cottage. I am having the kitchen re-fitted, and some other work, but the kitchen is the main thing. I heard about a South African guy who is just starting out as an interior designer and has some great ideas. So he came up had a look and chat and the seeds of ideas were sewn. Wesley is his name and some of his ideas are quite off the wall.
Units have been ordered through L & L building supplies in Barmouth in a Shaker style with beech units with stainless steel handles and glossy black worktop, and the ceiling is still under discussion. We took the ceiling down in the hope there were beams, there were, but they were rubbish, now I am thinking dividing the ceiling in to ten blocks, and combining, tongue and groove (stained in a light cream), and plastered ceiling with down lighters. The Kitchen will be a room within a room, with the floor hopefully having a slate floor and I wondered if I could use a fibre optic light system somehow. There should also be a fair few glass block used as well.
The cloakroom has been ripped out with dust everywhere, no water downstairs. I can see now why people don’t like buying something that needs a lot of work!!
